US formally requests more information on death at Russia plague lab
A laboratory worker at a plague research institute in Siberia died after a test tube broke in her hands. Around 200 people who had contact with her were placed under quarantine. Russian authorities investigated the death, initially reporting an unknown cause, though pneumonic plague was suspected. The World Health Organization said the incident posed very low risk to people outside Russia.
