Wildfires burn across western U.S. and Canada as residents are evacuated

A fast-moving wildfire in British Columbia forced over 20,000 people to evacuate their homes, destroying houses as it spread toward towns along Okanagan Lake. The province declared a state of emergency. Similar wildfires are also burning across the western United States and Canada amid summer heat.
