WHO calls for 'intensified' response as DR Congo Ebola cases near 4,000
A major Ebola outbreak in eastern Congo has spread rapidly, infecting nearly 4,000 people and killing over 1,800. The outbreak is the second-deadliest on record and spreading faster than previous ones. The World Health Organization and Congo's government are calling for stronger response efforts, partly because the outbreak is worsening food shortages in the region.
