The United States announced a $400 million military aid package for Ukraine in May 2024, including Patriot munitions, HIMARS ammunition and Stinger missiles, as Kyiv struggled to hold off Russian advances in the Kharkiv region. It was the third tranche since Congress passed new funding in April.
