United Airlines found loose bolts, other issues on a key part of grounded Boeing 737 Max 9 jetliners
After a panel blew out of an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 Max 9 in January 2024, United and Alaska Airlines said inspections of their grounded Max 9 jets had found loose bolts and other installation problems on door plugs. The Federal Aviation Administration approved guidelines for inspecting and repairing the plugs.
