NYSE to close on January 9 in honor of the late former President Jimmy Carter

The New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq announced they would close on Jan. 9, 2025, for the national day of mourning for former President Jimmy Carter, who died Dec. 29 at 100, following the custom of closing to honor a president's death.
