Sudan’s army chief returns to Khartoum after airport recaptured

Sudan's army said in March 2025 that it had recaptured the Khartoum airport, presidential palace and center of the capital from the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, and army chief Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan returned to the city for the first time in nearly two years of civil war.
