Schizophrenia and type 2 diabetes are linked, but GLP-1s could help manage the risks
Researchers found that people who have both schizophrenia and type 2 diabetes face increased health risks. A treatment called GLP-1 receptor agonists, which are used for diabetes, was associated with lower rates of psychiatric hospitalization and emergency department visits in this patient group compared to people who did not receive this treatment.
