Russia-Ukraine talks end without ceasefire, but countries agree to exchange prisoners
Russian and Ukrainian delegations met in Istanbul in June 2025 for their second round of direct peace talks in just over two weeks. They agreed to exchange thousands of dead and wounded troops and at least 1,000 prisoners, but reported no progress toward a ceasefire.
