Retrial begins in 1997 rape, attempted murder case in Bakersfield
The retrial of the man accused of the brutal attack 30 years ago against Cari Anderson, who was raped and left for dead with her throat slit, began Monday in Superior Court. Michael Allen Fontes, 53, faces charges including attempted murder and aggravated mayhem.
