Philadelphia firefighters reflect on ground zero mission 25 years after 9/11
On September 11, 2001, Philadelphia firefighters and police officers were deployed to New York City to help respond to the terrorist attacks. Among them were members of Pennsylvania Task Force 1, including Philadelphia Fire Department Lt. Michael Foley and Chief John O'Neill. On the 25th anniversary of the attacks, Mayor Cherelle Parker honored 34 Philadelphia firefighters, police officers, and housing authority workers who were sent to Ground Zero with a commemorative plaque.
