UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was shot and killed outside a New York City hotel in December 2024 in what officials called a targeted attack. Police said the gunman fled on a bicycle and in a cab and likely left the city by bus, leaving behind a backpack later found in Central Park.
