Homeland Security grants temporary deportation reprieve for more than 100K Ukrainians and Sudanese
The Department of Homeland Security has extended deportation protections for more than 100,000 immigrants from Ukraine and Sudan whose temporary status was set to expire. These individuals can continue living and working in the United States under a program called Temporary Protected Status. The extension came as their protections were about to end, though similar protections for Salvadoran immigrants remain in uncertain limbo after their deadline already passed.
