Witkoff and Kushner, in a first, visit Ukraine for peace talks

President Trump has sent two special envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine. The envoys first traveled to Moscow to meet with Russian leaders, then went to Kyiv to meet with Ukrainian officials. These visits represent a new diplomatic effort by the Trump administration to bring the two sides to the negotiating table.
