Human rights groups have asked a United Nations panel to intervene in a U.S. government practice where ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) is withholding information about where thousands of people facing deportation are being held. Families and lawyers say they cannot find out the locations of detainees. The groups are seeking UN help to end this practice.
