Why the IOC president’s Utah visit is important to U.S. Olympic leaders

Kirsty Coventry, the new president of the International Olympic Committee, visited Salt Lake City this week ahead of the 2034 Olympic Games. During her visit, she met with groups of Utah children to promote education and sport. She did not travel to nearby Colorado Springs to visit the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee headquarters, which U.S. Olympic leaders consider significant.
