Suspected migrant smugglers go on trial in Paris over mass drowning in Channel
At least 31 people died in the Channel in 2021 while trying to reach England by boat. Fourteen people suspected of smuggling migrants are now on trial in Paris in connection with those deaths. The incident was the deadliest accident involving asylum seekers attempting to cross to the English coast.
