UAE investigators say flydubai co-pilot was planning 'terrorist act'
A FlyDubai co-pilot stabbed the captain with a crash axe during a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv, apparently attempting to crash the plane. The captain managed to open the cockpit door and prevent the crash, allowing the aircraft to land safely in Saudi Arabia with all 174 passengers and crew aboard. Investigators say the co-pilot had previously been flagged by Oman over extremism concerns. UAE authorities are treating the incident as a terrorist attack and have opened an investigation.
