Federal Court Shields Catholic Nuns from New York Assisted Suicide Law

New York passed a law on end-of-life care with few religious exceptions. Religious organizations, including nuns, sued and said the law could force them to participate in assisted suicide against their beliefs and threaten their funding. A court temporarily stopped the law from being enforced while the lawsuit continues.
