Nearly 1.6 million cartons of eggs from two Texas farms were recalled due to a salmonella outbreak affecting multiple states. The FDA gave the recall its highest-risk classification, warning of serious health consequences or death. The recall was voluntary and is being investigated as one of the largest food-borne illness outbreaks on record.
