Astronomers capture image of possible companion to famous star Betelgeuse

Astronomers have long suspected that the bright star Betelgeuse might actually be two stars orbiting together. New telescope images now provide the clearest evidence yet that a smaller star sits very close to the famous red star, potentially solving a mystery that has existed for about a century.
