As work requirements kick in for Medicaid, some states are taking a tougher stance
Several states are implementing new work requirements for Medicaid, the government health insurance program for lower-income people. At least six states are now requiring people to provide documentation proving they are too sick to meet these work requirements. These stricter policies are taking effect next year.
