Christa Pike in critical condition after failed execution at Tennessee prison, attorneys say
Christa Pike was sentenced to death for a murder she committed in 1995. She was set to become the first woman executed in Tennessee in over 200 years, and the governor declined to stop the execution. During the execution attempt on Wednesday, officials administered lethal drugs but were unable to carry it out. Following the failed execution, the governor halted all executions in the state.
