Alaska Republican fears he may have voted for ‘Decoy Dan’ Sullivan in tight Senate election
Alaska's 2024 Senate election featured two candidates both named Dan Sullivan—the Republican incumbent and a challenger referred to as "Decoy Dan." The similar names caused confusion among voters, with at least one Republican supporter realizing he may have voted for the wrong candidate. An FEC complaint alleges the challenger's campaign illegally coordinated with a dark-money group that ran ads against the incumbent. The Trump campaign requested that ballots for the decoy candidate be set aside, but Alaska's attorneys said this was impossible without violating voter privacy.
