60 cats rescued from abandoned boat anchored off Washington state

Police in Washington rescued around 60 cats and kittens from an abandoned sailboat found near a beach. The cats were malnourished and frightened when authorities located them. The boat's owner has since shared his account of events, including that a cat bite caused him to leave the vessel.
