Alaska’s governor orders a probe into Peltola’s Senate campaign over spoiler candidate controversy
Mary Peltola, the Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in Alaska, is facing an investigation by Republican Governor Mike Dunleavy. The investigation concerns allegations that Peltola's campaign recruited another candidate who shares the same name as the Republican incumbent, Dan Sullivan—an apparent strategy to split votes. Meanwhile, Peltola has asked a federal judge to dismiss a lawsuit from the Trump administration that seeks to block Alaska from certifying the election results if the Republican loses narrowly.
