In-flight attack on FlyDubai pilot puts aviation security measures under fresh scrutiny
On a FlyDubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv, a copilot stabbed the captain in the cockpit in an apparent attempt to crash the plane. The captain, an Indian airline pilot, fought back and regained control, allowing the aircraft to land safely in Saudi Arabia with all 174 people aboard surviving. Investigators are still determining the copilot's motive, though Israel's prime minister has claimed he underwent radical Islamist indoctrination. The incident has prompted aviation authorities to review security measures.
