Hurricane Trudy strengthens to category 2 as it heads toward Mexico
Tropical Storm Trudy formed in the Pacific this week and was forecast to rapidly intensify into a major hurricane. The storm strengthened as expected and reached Category 3 status while approaching Mexico's Pacific coast. Forecasters said it could continue growing and is headed toward the southwestern and west-central areas of Mexico's Pacific coast through Saturday.
