16th Street Baptist Church marks bombing anniversary with a new visitor center
In 1963, members of the Ku Klux Klan planted dynamite at the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, killing four girls who were preparing for Sunday services. The bombing was a major act of violence during the civil rights era. The church is now marking the anniversary of this attack by opening a new visitor center.
