Nithya Raman poised for LA mayoral victory over Karen Bass after latest ballot drop
Los Angeles held a mayoral election to choose between incumbent Mayor Karen Bass and challenger Nithya Raman, a city councilmember and democratic socialist. Polls showed the race was extremely close, with the candidates tied before Election Day. As mail-in and provisional ballots were counted after the election, Raman took a narrow lead over Bass. CNN has projected that Raman will win the race.
